ASCENSION RENEW 2000

On the fortieth day of Easter, the church celebrated Christ’s ascension into heaven. Next Sunday, on the feast of Pentecost, the church celebrates the giving of the Holy Spirit. We are on the state of "in between-ness." The disciples were together in the upper room prating and waiting for ten days between Ascension and Pentecost.

While Jesus was on earth, he glorified the Father by accomplishing his mission of making known the only true God. He now asks the Father to glorify him by bringing him home into the divine presence.

We as followers of Jesus can glorify him by keeping the Father’s words, by strengthening our faith in him through regular reflection of the Word of God and by sharing our God-given gifts to others.

Guide for Reflection:

    1. How do we nourish our relationship with the only true God?
    2. How do we glorify the Father in our daily life?
    3. What time do we give to our spiritual journey or inner journey?
